Five member chemists distributed free glucose strips and leaflets at local markets, reaching over 200 residents. “Early detection saves lives,” said campaign lead Neha Agrawal. With monsoon season approaching, the MCDA unveiled a new initiative on February 26 to create an emergency medicine stockpile for Mandsaur. Ten member chemists have pledged to store extra supplies of antipyretics, antidiarrheals, and flood-related essentials. “Last year’s shortages taught us to prepare,” said Vice President Sanjay Verma. The Central Government’s recent GST tweak, effective February 1, raised taxes on select OTC drugs from 12% to 18%, sparking concerns among Mandsaur chemists. MCDA met virtually with AIOCD leaders on February 8 to strategize. “This could hit rural patients hardest,” warned Treasurer Meena Gupta.
