Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Regulations

Effective March 1, 2025
In line with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985:

1. Storage: Store narcotics (e.g., morphine, codeine) in a locked, double-key safe, separate from general stock.
2. Reporting: Submit monthly sales reports via the NDPS online portal by the 5th of each month, with copies to compliance@mcda.org.
3. Stock Limits: Maintain no more than a 30-day supply unless approved by the Drug Controller.
4. Disposal: Expired narcotics must be returned to the supplier or destroyed under MCDA supervision—contact disposal@mcda.org for scheduling.
5. Training: Attend at least one MCDA narcotics compliance workshop annually (next: March 5, 2025).
   Non-compliance risks license suspension by authorities and MCDA disciplinary action.
