Guidelines for Emergency Medicine Stock Management

To ensure availability during crises (e.g., floods, pandemics):

1. Stockpile: Keep a 15-day reserve of essential drugs (antibiotics, antipyretics, antidiabetics) as per MCDA’s Emergency List (available at office).
2. Expiry Check: Rotate stock monthly to avoid wastage—dispose of near-expiry items via MCDA bins.
3. Coordination: Notify MCDA of shortages within 24 hours for collective sourcing (emergency@mcda.org).
4. Public Access: Prioritize dispensing to vulnerable groups (elderly, rural) during shortages, as feasible.
